Josh Martin

Behavioral Science Advisor


Josh joined CUBIC in 2023 as a Behavioral Science Adviser, bringing particular expertise in the areas of conflict/fragility, governance, livelihoods and early childhood education.

Prior to joining CUBIC Josh has most recently been Executive Director at Beyond Conflict and Managing Director at ideas42, where he led much of the organization’s international work in applying behavioral insights to improve social impact and change governmental policy. Prior to ideas42, Josh was a policy advisor in Côte d’Ivoire’s Ministry of Planning and Development and has held research roles at the World Bank and Princeton University.

Josh holds a BA in Economics and Middle East studies from New York University and a Masters from Harvard’s Kennedy School of Government. He speaks fluent Arabic and French.

Fun fact: Josh is a big believer in the ‘rule of three’: he only cooks three dishes, plays three pieces on the piano, knows three chess openings and owns three pairs of shoes.
